Parking

The University utilises a paid parking scheme at St Lucia, which includes various parking zones and multi-level car parks for staff, students and visitors. Paid parking applies from 7.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday throughout the year (Public Holidays excepted).

It is highly recommended that participants travelling by car use either of the multi-storey carparks located on Sir Fred Schonell Drive (See http://www.uq.edu.au/maps/ click on St Lucia), as this provides covered and secure parking, and requires only a short walk to Building #22 (Schonell Theatre) and  the Heath/Holt Rooms (Student Union). Minimum charge of $5 per day.

TRAVEL TO THE VENUE:

If your accommodation venue is close to the River, the CityCat or bus are good options.  A cost effective way to travel is to purchase a Go Card http://www.translink.com.au/go.php.  These are available from most newsagents (including the Newsagent at the University) or from Go Card Machines (Adult fare cards only) at Bus and Train Stations.  Travel Zones 1 + 2 apply. This card can be used on ferries, buses and trains. There is a refundable deposit of $5.

Alternatively a weekly ticket may be purchased from any manned train station.  Travel Zones 1 + 2 apply.  This is a little more expensive (+-$3) and can also be used for ferries, buses and trains.  No deposit required.

If travelling by taxi, please ask the driver to drop you off outside the Schonell Theatre (Building #22 on the map).  There will be a sign for the Conference.  If you are travelling by bus, the bus will take you to Chancellors Place.  From there it is a short distance across the Great Court to the Theatre.
